Under Art. 3. of the Family code, state the formal requisite of marriage are:
1. Authority of the Solemnizing Officer;
2. A valid marriage license except in the cases provided for in Chapter 2 of this Title; and
3. A marriage ceremony which takes place with the appearance of the contracting parties before the solemnizing officer and their personal declaration that they take each other as husband and wife in the presence of not less than two witnesses of the legal age.

Ok... It took me a while to understand what the difference is between formal requisite and essential requisite... but I think I have an idea now, even though it's still vague. Hehehe. =P
Anyway... I have a question. What is that mentioned in #2? It says except in cases provided in chapter 2. Have you covered chapter 2? Maybe not... I hope that will come up in future posts..?
